Once again, Food Lifeline is preparing to staff The Alley Hosted by Tom Douglas at the Seattle Center, July 20-22, 2012 as part of the annual Comcast Bite of Seattle.  This important annual fundraising event will help us to support our daily efforts to end hunger and provide the people of Western Washington with nutritious food.  Thank you for your interest in taking part.

Volunteers are needed to help with greeting guests, taking tickets, passing out plates and utensils, busing tables, assisting in the food booths, passing out water, collecting event surveys, etc….  Your specific volunteer assignment will be made on site.  This is a fun volunteer activity for folks who are age 16 or older, providing you are able to be standing much of the time, and that you are willing to be on site, rain or shine!  Join us as an individual volunteer, or gather a group of family/friends together…either way you are sure to have a good time, and help to support Food Lifeline.

Volunteer shift options include the following…..

Friday, July 20            10:30-3:30         2:30-7:30

Saturday, July 21        10:30-3:30         2:30-7:30

Sunday, July 22          10:30-3:30         2:30-6:30

Volunteers that register to help are expected to join us for the entire 5 hour shift, and we are not able to have multiple volunteers “share” a shift.  If you are planning your schedule to include the Bite of Seattle and other activities, be sure to calculate for the typically congested downtown Seattle traffic.  We can’t emphasize enough how important it is that volunteers arrive on time, and are expected to be with us for the entire 5 hour shift.
